How the desk works with producers
Most retail agencies see surety in fragments: an ERISA bond here, a contractor's first bid bond there, a supersedeas requirement from a client's litigation counsel on a Friday afternoon. Fragments are exactly what a wholesale desk is for. Send the file as it stands, and the desk will tell you what is missing, what market fits, and what terms look like, subject to credit and underwriting, without a lecture and without an appointment requirement for one-off placements.
Commission protection. Your placement is your account. The desk does not solicit your client, does not market around you, and pays commission at placement per the terms agreed before submission.
Broker of record discipline. The desk honors BOR conventions strictly, in both directions. We do not accept a BOR letter engineered to strip a producer who built the account, and we expect the same conduct from the markets we use.
Difficult files welcome. Declined contractors, impaired credit, judicial obligations with short fuses, financial guarantees, and obligations no standard market will read: this is the work the desk was built for. Through Janus Assurance Re and its carrier panel, placements are structured with collateral, co-indemnity, or funds control where a conventional market would simply decline.
Submission standards
A complete file is quoted faster than a partial one, and the desk will always tell you exactly what complete means for the obligation at hand. As a rule: the obligee's bond form or the statute that requires it, a signed application, and financial statements proportionate to the exposure. Send what you have; the desk will ask for the rest once.
